Foggy Days, Morning Routines, and Mondays
Fall is here. And it's an El Nino year. This is our rainy season, and we've had more rain that usual. Not anything like Houston rain...but for California it's dramatic. 5+ feet of mud in mudslides dramatic. And so we've had big fluffy clouds and lots of fog.
Yesterday, I think I swallowed a cloud when I woke up. And it stayed with me all day. I started in a foggy, sleepy, haze and I came down with a case of the Mondays that lasted the entire day.
My routine: Each day, I wake up first. I feed the puppies, take a shower, and then have some time for coffee and meditation. Then I blow dry my hair. About halfway through, I stop and text Clay from downstairs to wake up and take his shower. Yesterday, I followed these same steps, except, I didn't text Clay. I texted Holly. Thankfully, I realized my error quickly and explained my mistake...but that really set the tone for the entire day.
Later, I unearthed an email. A very important email. One that determines whether or not people get paychecks. I found it in my Drafts box. I thought it went out a week ago. Now, emergency call to my boss. Rush paperwork.
Just before lunch, I ran to church to drop something off. I entered but did not see anyone. So, I went searching. Opened a door, and there was the church secretary. I startled her and made her jump.
My calendar had saved no appointments. Instead, they were on sticky notes. All except for one. I had to call the client I scheduled the appointment with to find out when he was coming. Spent some quality time with my calendar after that and made lists. Worked close to 10 hrs. Came home and cleaned...needed to keep moving to stay awake.
Now, I'm going to text Clay to wake up. Let's hope today I get it right today! Thank goodness it's no longer Monday!

The Mondays are so real. This was the realest of all the Mondays. Hope this Monday was better!
